It Works. Let's Sleep!
We all had so much fun :) My human friends had to make a lot of last minute edits, but in the end I flew across the room wonderfully and was able to communicate with lots of other humans! It was almost better than Trix.

The Power Board Wishes Gabby a Happy Birthday
The humans fried 4 power boards. One of which exploded in Gabby's face. They also made a magical IMU circuit that worked depending on how you held it and took apart the fan to later find out it had been working all along. It's been a great day.

Learning How To Move My Ear
My friends call it pairing, but all I really do is move my ear when a human is available to help guide me. They always come up with fancy names for things. There are also some nice lights that turn on!

Fanny Pack Time

The fanny pack is ready for other humans to use. It's got very pretty buttons and my friends have written a thing called ISR to make it functional.

You Think You Are Done, But You Are Very Wrong.
My makers have been working very hard on soldering all of the circuit boards. They think they are done with soldering. Poor fools. They are going to be soldering until 5pm on wednesday.

Learning to steer
The thruster's are in place, the state machines are working, the circuits are soldered, and I'm looking beautiful!

Don't be a Square
My makers have been working on getting some little rectangles to appear on a screen. They say the rectangles are PWM signals, but I think they are just trying to sound smart. They look like plain boring squares to me. They seemed so excited "to have adapted the PWM module to this project" though that I pretended to be stoked about the moving squares too.

Paper Planes
My human friends want to add thursters to steer my hovercraft, so they did some tests today. Somehow, they believe that if they can blow a paper plane, they will be able to carry a rabit. Sometimes I'm not sure these humans know what they are doing.

Hearing and Listening Are Not The Same Thing
I was receiving information from the humans but, honestly, I didn't understand a thing. My makers have been helping me out for days and, finally, it seems like we are getting somewhere. I feel a lot more comfortable with FARMER lingo and the humans can sort of speak DOG. You guys are going to love it.

We Deserve a Treat
I'm starting to like my makers and their smelly workplace. Today they have, finished and tested the Treat SM. I have no clue what that means, but they told me to write it down. So I did.

What Does It All Mean?
Humans are really bad at guessing what I am trying to say from my body language. They want to receive precise IMU information through an intuitive display. So picky. Nevertheless, to satisfy their demands my makers have taught me how to transmit information to the humans.

I'm Not The Only One Flying
One of my makers has flown to Spain for a few days. I hope her hovercraft also includes nice IMUs. In the mean time, the rest of my human friends continue getting everything ready for the big FERRET herding event. They want to make sure that I am able to communicate with ease with other humans, so today they have made sure I can receive information from them!

Friday, May 19th

Luxury Ride
My friends have are turning my hovercraft into a luxury vehicle. It is now equipped with an IMU that is fully able to send information regarding my position and orientation. The humans will use this information to help guide me.

Melted Metal and Talking Bugs

The fans that keep my vehicle floating are controlled with a tiny black cockroach-like thing called PIC that communicates with a bigger cockroach-like thing called TIVA. My makers melted some metal to stick the bugs on a board and managed to get the PIC and TIVA to talk o each other.

Humans Also Need Some Guidance
My maker's told me that other humans are going to help me capture the evil FERRETs. To make it easier for those humans to guide me, they have prepared a pretty tray with instructions.

Pimp My Cereal
First check off was a success! Hovercraft and cereal bowl working.

Higher, Faster, Prettier.
I flew on across the floor of Room 36 on a brand new, improved hovercraft.

Boxes, Arrows, and Asynchronous Things
To me they just look like an indecipherable mess of boxes and arrows. However, I've been told that those scary looking things are called state diagrams and are pretty helpful.

Also, the UART library I talked about a few days ago is now ready and tested!

Saturday, May 13th

Cereal Are Ready!
I told my human friends that I love colorful cereal, so they started preparing a cereal bowl that will help guide me in my FERRET-capturing quest.

Strange Libraries
My human friends have started working on something called the UART library. They've promised me that, thanks to this weird invention, in a couple of weeks I will be able to communicate with other groups of humans who will help me capture some creatures called FERRETs.

Another Wise Human
Today my makers met with their super cool and knowledgable coach--Arya. The team learned to prototype lots and pay attention to mechanical details early on. They also learned that my xBees should be mounted way up high so that the signals are clear. Then the team started ordering my parts and planned out how I can be made and controlled!

We Have a Plan!

Check points and test plan are ready.

Learning To Fly
Today was an amazing day! My other rabbit friend flew across the floor of Room 36 on the first prototype attempt of my hovercraft.

Monday, May 8th

Coach Karl
A wise human called Karl is helping my makers get ready for the FERRET herding event. Here are some of his tips:
  • Gyro would give you faster feedback than would the video camera
  • Reach goal: breaks for quick turning
  • Ducted fans very efficient
  • Mount thrusters low (i.e. not too high) so nose doesn’t dive down
  • Work in parallel (on different tasks) as much as you can

Hello World
Today, I was adopted from the Amazon pet shelter. My makers began to dream me up. They began to create a schedule of how I would function to collect ferrets from their yard in exchange for some trix!
